                        A RESOLUTION
            Honoring the Columbus Crew on winning the 2023 Major
              League Soccer Cup.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly     1
of Ohio are pleased to commend the Columbus Crew as the 2023 MLS Cup      2
Champion; and                                                             3
     WHEREAS, The members of the Columbus Crew have proven to be          4
talented and superbly conditioned athletes and have gained the respect    5
of fans and opponents alike for their spirited and highly motivated       6
performance. Throughout the season, the players displayed their           7
tremendous skills on the field, and as a result, the Crew accomplished    8
their goals, bringing home this year’s MLS Championship, the third        9
title in the franchise’s history; and                                     10
     WHEREAS, Known as a driven and determined team, the members of the   11
Columbus Crew have developed into a remarkably efficient group of         12
players whose skill is equaled only by their exemplary display of         13
teamwork. They are a credit not only to the superb leadership of their    14
coach, Wilfried Nancy, but to the Columbus community as a whole; and      15
     WHEREAS, The road to victory is a difficult one, requiring           16
ability, endurance, and a positive attitude on the part of players and    17
coaches alike. The members of the Columbus Crew have exemplified all      18
of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and out     19
of competition, including courage, discipline, integrity, and good        20
sportsmanship, and their efforts have earned them the admiration of       21
all those who have witnessed these outstanding athletes in action;        22
therefore be it                                                           23
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General     24

Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute the Columbus         25
Crew on its 2023 MLS Cup and extend best wishes as they defend this        26
title next season; and be it further                                       27
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                28
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Columbus Crew.                29
