                       A RESOLUTION
                       Honoring Natalie Nixon as
the 2023 Division III Ohio Middle School State Cross Country Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to     2
Natalie Nixon on winning the 2023 Division III Ohio Middle School         3
State Cross Country Championship; and                                     4
     WHEREAS, This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Natalie        5
Nixon has clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as    6
her mental and physical fortitude as a long-distance runner. Winning      7
this year’s Division III Ohio Middle School State Cross Country           8
Championship with a time of 12:12.77, she has exemplified all of the      9
characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the     10
sports world, including courage, determination, and an innate sense of    11
the principles of good sportsmanship; and                                 12
     WHEREAS, In displaying such exceptional prowess as a member of the   13
Ottawa Hills Junior High School cross country team, Natalie Nixon has     14
earned the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of           15
countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals.       16
Competition in athletics has enabled her to learn much about              17
dedication and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to           18
acknowledge her exceptional record of achievement; and                    19
     WHEREAS, Long-distance running is an event that requires             20
exceptional stamina and natural ability, and Natalie Nixon is to be       21
commended for her commitment to this demanding activity. In attaining     22
her goals and developing her talents as an athlete, she has               23
consistently exhibited the skill and integrity that are the hallmarks     24
of a true champion, and it is our hope that her fine example will         25
inspire other young runners to dedicate themselves similiarly;            26

     RESOLVED, That we, the members of   the House of Representatives of     28
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in   adopting this Resolution,           29
congratulate Natalie Nixon as the 2023   Division III Ohio Middle School     30
State Cross Country Champion and offer   best wishes for continued           31
success; and be it further                                                   32
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit       33
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Natalie Nixon.               34
