DETAILED ANALYSIS
The bill designates the following highway and authorizes the Director of Transportation
to erect suitable markers along the highway indicating its name:
Designated Name “Joe Burrow Highway”1
Highway The northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. Route 33, between North
Plains Road and Columbus Road, in Athens County
Other Information Joe Burrow is a quarterback for the National Football League’s Cincinnati
Bengals. Rising to prominence in his youth, he was awarded the Mr. Football
Award Ohio in 2014 for his achievements as the quarterback for the Athens
High School football team. Later, as a college quarterback, he played both for
The Ohio State University and Louisiana State University (LSU), won the
Heisman Trophy as the most outstanding player during the 2019 college
football season, and led LSU to an NCAA football national championship.
Today, as the founder and president of the Joe Burrow Foundation, he is
using his influence as a successful professional athlete to provide resources
and support for the underprivileged and underserved.
