A RESOLUTION
Honoring Rachel Miller as the 2023 ODRC Employee of the
Year.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to commend Rachel Miller on being named the 2023 2
Employee of the Year by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and 3
Correction; and 4
WHEREAS, A remarkable individual, Rachel Miller has combined civic 5
concern and dedication with the utmost professionalism to become a 6
dynamic leader in her field, and this year’s Employee of the Year 7
Award is a fitting tribute to her for her exemplary efforts. 8
Commencing her tenure as a correction officer with ODRC in 2018, she 9
has served as an administrative professional in the labor relations 10
office at the Warren Correctional Institution since 2021, and she has 11
demonstrated an unwavering dedication to performing her duties and 12
fulfilling her responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and 13
competence; and 14
WHEREAS, Never content to take a passive role in life, Rachel 15
Miller has worked tirelessly to better the quality of life in our 16
society, and by shouldering her responsibilities with confidence, she 17
has earned the respect and esteem of all those with whom she has 18
worked. Through her admirable devotion to service and achievement, she 19
has distinguished herself as a conscientious and responsible Ohioan; 20
and 21
WHEREAS, It is through the work of people such as Rachel Miller 22
that Ohio’s justice and correctional systems continue to be effective 23
in serving the needs of our state. Indeed, her contributions to her 24
profession are certainly worthy of emulation, and we applaud her on 25
her outstanding record of accomplishment; therefore be it 26

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 27
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute Rachel Miller on 28
her recent accolade and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be 29
it further 30
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 31
authenticated copy of this Resolution to Rachel Miller. 32
