                       A RESOLUTION
                     Honoring First Baptist Church
                   on its Two Hundredth Anniversary.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th    1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to     2
First Baptist Church on the hallowed occasion of its Two Hundredth        3
Anniversary; and                                                          4
     WHEREAS, Since its inception, First Baptist Church has offered its   5
members the pathway to a more meaningful life by illuminating and         6
demonstrating the precepts on which the church was founded. The spirit    7
of love and Christian fellowship that exists among the parishioners       8
not only prevails within the church edifice itself but also extends       9
beyond those sacred walls to touch the lives of everyone encountered      10
by these devout disciples; and                                            11
     WHEREAS, Under the capable leadership of its pastors, both past      12
and present, First Baptist Church has experienced continual growth and    13
has provided a source of moral guidance and spiritual motivation for      14
each of its members. Over the years, the church has enhanced the          15
quality of life within the surrounding area, and through its generous     16
efforts, it has earned the gratitude and respect of the many citizens     17
it has so capably served; and                                             18
     WHEREAS, An occasion such as this is an important milestone that     19
represents dedication, commitment, and enduring faith. For two hundred    20
years, the members of First Baptist Church have kept their faith alive    21
in the South Point community, and on this special anniversary, the        22
congregation has accepted the challenge of carrying its beliefs into      23
the future; therefore be it                                               24
    RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of     25

the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,           26
congratulate First Baptist Church on its Two Hundredth Anniversary and     27
pay tribute to all those joining in the celebration of this joyous         28
event; and be it further                                                   29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit     30
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to First Baptist Church.      31
