DETAILED ANALYSIS
The bill designates the following highway and authorizes the Director of Transportation
to erect suitable markers along the highway indicating its name:
Designated Name “Patrolman William J. Keller Memorial Highway”1
Highway The portion of I-76, between Lakewood Road and Industry Road, in Portage
County
Other Information On October 14, 1972, Patrolman William J. Keller was fatally struck by a drunk
driver during a traffic stop on I-76 in Portage County. Patrolman Keller served
with the Ohio State Highway Patrol for 10 months before his fatality.
