A RESOLUTION
Honoring Harding Park on its Centennial.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to Harding Park on 2
the memorable occasion of its One Hundredth Anniversary, celebrated 3
September 16, 2023; and 4
WHEREAS, Harding Park is deserving of high praise, for it has 5
provided area citizens with places to relax and enjoy a variety of 6
activities in a natural and peaceful setting. Established in 1923 7
thanks to a donation from Jacob Kalver, the park has grown to include 8
one hundred twenty acres, five pavilions, a pergola, a bandstand, 9
baseball and soccer fields, and bocce, tennis, pickleball, and 10
volleyball courts, and its One Hundredth Anniversary is a justifiable 11
source of pride and an outstanding reflection on its hard-working 12
staff and volunteers and on the community it serves; and 13
WHEREAS, At a time when too few people are concerned with the 14
benefits our land has to offer, all those associated with Harding 15
Park, including its board of commissioners, have applied vision and 16
expertise to the task of protecting and preserving the environment 17
while providing the public with recreational opportunities. We are 18
proud to note that it is through the diligent efforts of conscientious 19
individuals such as these that the State of Ohio continues to grow and 20
prosper and remains a pleasant place in which to live and work; and 21
WHEREAS, Throughout the past one hundred years, Harding Park has 22
enhanced the quality of life within the surrounding area, and its many 23
unique features have gained it the appreciation of many grateful 24
visitors. We are confident the park will remain an integral part of 25
the community and an iconic landmark for many years to come; therefore 26

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 28
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, we commend Harding Park 29
on its One Hundredth Anniversary and offer best wishes for the future; 30
and be it further 31
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 32
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Harding Park Board of 33
Commissioners. 34
