SUMMARY
 Updates the definitions of the U.S. armed forces, armed services, and uniformed services
throughout the Revised Code to include the U.S. Space Force.
DETAILED ANALYSIS
Space Force
The bill updates the definitions of the U.S. armed forces, armed services, and uniformed
services throughout the Revised Code to include the U.S. Space Force. The U.S. Space Force was
established on December 20, 2019, under Public Law 116-92 and functions under the umbrella
of the U.S. Air Force.1 The primary mission of the U.S. Space Force is to secure “our Nation’s
interest in, from, and to space.”2
The following table lists each section of the Revised Code that is updated by the bill to
include the U.S. Space Force in the definition of the U.S. armed forces, armed services, or
uniformed services, as applicable. Notably, each entry in the table represents a conforming
change in state law to ensure the inclusion of the U.S. Space Force; no other changes were made
regarding the underlying state laws concerning the U.S. armed forces, armed services, or
uniformed services (such as benefits available to veterans) that are included in the bills.

Committee appeared in the House Journal. Note that the legislative history may be incomplete.
