                       A RESOLUTION
              Honoring the Akron Hungarian American Club
                          on its Centennial.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to pay tribute to the Akron       2
Hungarian American Club on its One Hundredth Anniversary; and          3
     WHEREAS, Over one hundred years ago, more than two million          4
Hungarian people were searching for a new home, and the Hungarian        5
residents of the City of Akron wanted to start a fund-raising drive to   6
support them, creating the Akron Hungarian American Club in 1923 as a    7
source of encouragement and support. Throughout the club’s history,      8
its members have consistently demonstrated exemplary enthusiasm and      9
unity, as well as an unwavering commitment to celebrating and            10
perpetuating their cultural heritage; and                                11
     WHEREAS, Due to the tremendous effort and initiative it has         12
displayed, the Akron Hungarian American Club has grown significantly     13
during the last century, and this noteworthy organization is certainly   14
deserving of high praise. This special anniversary offers a unique       15
opportunity to reflect on the association’s tradition of success and     16
to look with optimism to the future; and                                 17
     WHEREAS, It is not surprising that the Akron Hungarian American     18
Club has achieved widespread recognition, for it has far surpassed the   19
expectations of its members and their community. Indeed, it              20
exemplifies the essence of their ethnic spirit and sets the standard     21
to which other such groups can aspire; therefore be it                   22
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 23
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,       24
commend the Akron Hungarian American Club on the occasion of its       25

Centennial and salute its members as some of Ohio’s finest citizens;       26
and be it further                                                          27
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 28
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Akron Hungarian    29
American Club.                                                         30
