                       A RESOLUTION
            Honoring the Cincinnati Observatory on the One Hundred
              Fiftieth Anniversary in its current location.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly     1
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Cincinnati       2
Observatory on the occasion of its One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary in    3
Mount Lookout, September 30, 2023; and                                    4
     WHEREAS, This is an impressive milestone, and congratulations are    5
certainly in order. In 1873, the Cincinnati Observatory was               6
constructed on Mount Lookout, a mere five miles east of the city, and     7
in the century and a half since, it has achieved a praiseworthy record    8
of service to the area and helped to improve the quality of life in       9
our society; and                                                          10
     WHEREAS, Over the years, the Cincinnati Observatory has gained the   11
appreciation of countless patrons, and it has become one of the most      12
beloved landmarks in the Greater Cincinnati area. Great care and          13
considerable resources have been invested in the preservation of this     14
historic location, and it will assuredly continue to introduce            15
visitors to the wonders of our universe for a long time to come; and      16
     WHEREAS, The success of the Cincinnati Observatory can be            17
attributed to the vision and foresight of a host of innovative            18
individuals, and all those who have supported the operation’s various     19
educational endeavors are to be applauded on their tremendous efforts.    20
Indeed, they have convincingly demonstrated how very much can be          21
accomplished by a group of conscientious people with clear objectives     22
and firm resolve, and it is through the work of citizens such as these    23
that Ohio continues to be a pleasant place in which to live; therefore    24

     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General     26
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the          27
Cincinnati Observatory on its Sesquicentennial in Mount Lookout and        28
offer best wishes for the future; and be it further                        29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                30
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Cincinnati Observatory.       31
