A RESOLUTION
Honoring Melissa Costello
on her state and national American history teacher awards.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th 1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Melissa Costello 2
on receiving the Dr. Tom and Betty Lawrence American History Teacher 3
Award from the Ohio Society of the Sons of the American Revolution and 4
the National Elementary School American History Teacher of the Year 5
Award at the National Sons of the American Revolution American History 6
Contest; and 7
WHEREAS, Selection for these prestigious accolades is an honor of 8
which Melissa Costello can be justly proud, for she has been 9
recognized for her exceptional skill, commitment, and professionalism 10
in teaching the American Revolution era. A gifted intervention 11
specialist at Monroe Elementary School, she has worked diligently to 12
channel the natural energy and curiosity of students into meaningful 13
inquiry, thereby helping them to gain a better understanding of the 14
world around them. By presenting lessons in an interesting and 15
comprehensible manner, she has consistently inspired her students to 16
excel; and 17
WHEREAS, Over the years, Melissa Constello has made many 18
significant contributions to improving the quality of life in our 19
society. Through her decisive leadership and unfaltering dedication to 20
service, she has certainly distinguished herself as a conscientious 21
and hard-working Ohioan; and 22
WHEREAS, Throughout her career in the field of education, Melissa 23
Costello has supported countless students in their scholastic 24
endeavors and has helped to nurture within them a desire for academic 25
excellence. Willingly giving of her time, energy, and abilities far 26

beyond what was required or expected, she has earned the respect and 27
gratitude of her colleagues, her community, and, most importantly, her 28
students for her genuine love of teaching, and she is truly deserving 29
of high praise; therefore be it 30
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 31
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, 32
commend Melissa Costello for outstanding achievement and salute her as 33
one of Ohio’s finest educators; and be it further 34
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 35
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Melissa Costello. 36
