                       A RESOLUTION
                        Honoring Trista Fintel
     as a 2023 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Champion.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Trista Fintel on    2
winning the 2023 National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II    3
Indoor Track and Field Championship title in the shot put event; and     4
     WHEREAS, A sophomore at The University of Findlay, Trista Fintel    5
has combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of    6
good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly exceptional young     7
athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked diligently toward     8
attaining ultimate proficiency in her sport, and as a result, she        9
placed first in the shot put at this year’s NCAA Division II Indoor      10
Championship meet with a throw of 16.04 meters and earned All-American   11
first-team honors; and                                                   12
     WHEREAS, Trista Fintel’s accomplishments and leadership, both in    13
and out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine     14
reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her    15
coaches, her school, and her hometown. Her unwavering commitment to      16
excellence is reflected in breaking not only her own personal record     17
but also that of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference, and she has      18
gained the respect and esteem of many; and                               19
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role   20
in the total education of our young people, we are extremely pleased     21
to pay tribute to Trista Fintel on an exemplary season. Indeed, the      22
same maturity and experience she has gained through her participation    23
in track and field will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of     24
the future, and she is certainly worthy of high praise; therefore be     25

As Offered
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of    27
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,          28
commend Trista Fintel on her 2023 NCAA Division II Championship crown     29
and extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further           30
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 31
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Trista Fintel.         32
