                       A RESOLUTION
                        Honoring Carrie Furbee
 as the 2023 Division II State Swimming Champion in the 50- and 100-
                        yard freestyle events.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 135th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to honor Carrie Furbee on her       2
remarkable performance in the 2023 Division II State Swimming Meet;      3
and                                                                      4
     WHEREAS, Carrie Furbee is, indeed, deserving of high praise, for    5
through her tremendous achievements, she has distinguished herself as    6
a truly exceptional athlete. A sophomore at Grandview Heights High       7
School, she has combined natural talent with concentration and           8
perseverance to establish herself as one of the finest swimmers in our   9
state, and we applaud her on her first-place finishes in the 50-yard     10
freestyle with a time of 23.06 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle with   11
a time of 51.37 seconds at this year’s Division II State Meet; and       12
     WHEREAS, Carrie Furbee has exemplified all of the characteristics   13
which are essential for success both in and out of the sports world,     14
including courage, discipline, integrity, and an innate sense of the     15
principles of good sportsmanship. Through her unwavering commitment to   16
excellence, she has established herself as a true champion; and          17
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role   18
in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay      19
tribute to Carrie Furbee for her accomplishments at this year’s          20
Division II State Swimming Meet. Indeed, the same maturity and           21
experience she has gained through her participation in this sport will   22
greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be    23

As Offered
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of    25
the 135th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,          26
commend Carrie Furbee as a 2023 State Swimming Champion and salute her    27
as one of Ohio’s finest young athletes; and be it further                 28
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 29
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Carrie Furbee.         30
