A RESOLUTION
Honoring the North Canton YMCA on its Centennial. 1
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly 2
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the North Canton YMCA on the 3
auspicious occasion of its One Hundredth Anniversary, celebrated 4
February 18, 2023; and 5
WHEREAS, Recognition of this prestigious milestone is a fitting 6
tribute to the North Canton YMCA, for throughout the last century, it 7
has attained a remarkable record of service to the area. When William 8
H. "Boss" Hoover donated the North Canton Community Building in 1923, 9
he brought in the YMCA to handle operations, and it has since offered 10
a wide variety of facilities and activities to past Hoover employees 11
and their families as well as to local citizens of all ages. These 12
accomplishments are a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding 13
reflection not only on the organization itself but also on its hard- 14
working staff and volunteers and on its devoted members; and 15
WHEREAS, Over the years, the North Canton YMCA has enhanced the 16
quality of life within the surrounding area, and through its generous 17
contributions, it has earned the respect and gratitude of the many 18
citizens it has so capably served. We are certain that as this worthy 19
enterprise maintains its unfaltering dedication to service and 20
achievement, it will continue in the tradition of excellence that has 21
been the hallmark of the YMCA since its inception; and 22
WHEREAS, We are proud to note that it is through the unceasing 23
efforts of agencies such as the North Canton YMCA that Ohio has gained 24
a reputation as a state that is responsive to the needs of its 25
citizens and has remained a pleasant place in which to live and work. 26
This fine establishment is truly deserving of high praise; therefore 27

RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General 29
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the North 30
Canton YMCA on its One Hundredth Anniversary and extend best wishes 31
for ongoing success; and be it further 32
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 33
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the North Canton YMCA. 34
