                       A RESOLUTION
            In memory of Jean-Jules Leopold Botomogno.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 135th General Assembly    1
of Ohio offer our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the      2
family and many friends of Jean-Jules Leopold Botomogno on the           3
sorrowful occasion of his death; and                                     4
     WHEREAS, A man of exceptional concern and insight, Jean Botomogno   5
left an indelible impression on the people whose lives he touched, and   6
he will be remembered for the laughter that he brought to every          7
encounter as well as his zealous love of life and his selfless concern   8
for the welfare of others. A division chief and chief economist for      9
the Ohio Legislative Service Commission, he was a dedicated and          10
devoted public servant who labored diligently to maintain the            11
efficiency of the legislative process, and his exemplary tenure serves   12
as an inspiration for others; and                                        13
     WHEREAS, Born in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Jean Botomogno was a talented   14
athlete with a passion for football when he was young, but he knew       15
that education was his best path for success. Without giving up his      16
passion, he turned his focus to furthering his education, graduating     17
from L’École Nationale Superièure D’Agriculture De Yaoundé before        18
coming to the United States in 1986 to attend The Ohio State             19
University. Following his graduation with his master’s degree in         20
agricultural economics, he returned to Cameroon to teach at the          21
University Center of Dschang, followed by moving to Washington, D.C.,    22
to serve the international non-profit organization, Appropriate          23
Technology International. He relocated to Columbus, Ohio, in 1992, and   24
served as an enrolled agent for the Internal Revenue Service before      25
joining the Ohio Legislative Service Commission in January 2000.         26
Throughout his distinguished twenty-three-year career with LSC, he       27

gave generously of his time, energy, and abilities beyond what was         28
required or expected to assist the Ohio General Assembly, and, in so       29
doing, he demonstrated a praiseworthy commitment to the success of         30
state government.; and                                                     31
     WHEREAS, Jean Botomogno’s personal sacrifices of time and energy      32
to his family, his friends, his community, and the State of Ohio will      33
certainly live beyond him, and he will long be remembered for his          34
kindness and his unwavering commitment to service. Though the void         35
which his death has created can never be filled, the warmth and            36
understanding which he so readily extended to others, including his        37
wife, Marsha, and his children, Daniel and Michelle, will stand as a       38
testament to his personal character, and he will be remembered fondly      39
by all those who knew and loved him; therefore be it                       40
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 135th General     41
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the          42
memory of a truly special and honorable man, Jean-Jules Leopold            43
Botomogno; and be it further                                               44
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                45
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the family and many friends       46
of Jean-Jules Leopold Botomogno.                                           47
