A RESOLUTION
Honoring the Chardon High School baseball team as the 2022
Division II State Champion.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 134th General Assembly 1
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to the Chardon High 2
School baseball team on securing the 2022 Division II State 3
Championship; and 4
WHEREAS, The talented members of the Chardon High School baseball 5
team are to be heartily commended, for they defeated the Archbishop 6
Hoban High School squad and decisively claimed this year’s Division II 7
State Championship, the first such title in program history. The 8-5 8
victory of the Hilltoppers, which capped a 24-9 season, reflects an 9
outstanding collective effort by a gifted group of athletes. Without 10
exception, the players prepared conscientiously in pursuit of the 11
state crown, devoting countless hours to training and practice in 12
order to ensure peak conditioning, and clearly, this demanding regimen 13
has paid handsome dividends; and 14
WHEREAS, The members of the Chardon High School baseball team have 15
epitomized the power, poise, and precision that befit true champions. 16
Despite grueling pressure, the Hilltoppers have consistently 17
maintained their composure and morale, exhibiting strength, speed, 18
stamina, and agility in every challenging encounter. Time and again, 19
they have risen to the occasion, amply demonstrating their unflagging 20
determination, and their impressive maturity and finesse have gained 21
them widespread respect, even among their most formidable rivals; and 22
WHEREAS, By weathering a rigorous schedule and prevailing over a 23
host of adversaries, the members of the Chardon High School baseball 24
team have learned much about dedication, self-discipline, leadership, 25
and perseverance. Their first-place finish is a measure of their 26

stalwart commitment to the sport, and their indomitable spirit has 27
made their families, friends, and coaches extremely proud. This 28
triumph attests to the staunch resolve of these young men, and it 29
signifies the acquisition of valuable experience that is sure to 30
benefit them in later life; therefore be it 31
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 134th General 32
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the 33
Chardon High School baseball team on its brilliant season and wish its 34
members and coaches continued success in all of their future 35
endeavors; and be it further 36
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly 37
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Chardon High School 38
baseball team. 39
