                       A RESOLUTION
                         Honoring Josiah Cox
      on winning two 2022 Ohio High School Athletic Association
           Division II State Track and Field Championships.
     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 134th   1
General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Josiah Cox as the   2
2022 OHSAA Division II State Track and Field Champion in the shot put    3
and discus events; and                                                   4
     WHEREAS, A student at Manchester High School, Josiah Cox has        5
combined talent and competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good   6
sportsmanship to establish himself as a truly exceptional young          7
athlete. With admirable dedication, he has worked diligently toward      8
attaining ultimate proficiency in his sport, and as a result, he         9
secured the OHSAA Division II Championship titles in both the shot put   10
and discus events with throws of 60 feet, 1.5 inches and 176 feet, 11    11
inches, respectively; and                                                12
     WHEREAS, Josiah Cox’s accomplishments and leadership, both in and   13
out of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine         14
reflection not only on him but also on his family, his teammates, his    15
coaches, his school, and his community. His unwavering commitment to     16
excellence has earned him these well-deserved honors, and he is          17
certainly worthy of high praise; and                                     18
     WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role   19
in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay      20
tribute to Josiah Cox on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same           21
maturity and experience he has gained through his participation in       22
track and field will greatly aid him in meeting the challenges of the    23
future; therefore be it                                                  24

As Offered
     RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of Representatives of 25
the 134th General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution,       26
commend Josiah Cox on your outstanding performance at the 2022         27
Division II State Track and Field Championship; and be it further      28
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives transmit 29
a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Josiah Cox.            30
