                       A RESOLUTION
           Honoring First Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula on its
              Bicentennial.
     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 134th General Assembly    1
of Ohio are pleased to extend special recognition to First               2
Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula on the memorable occasion of its Two    3
Hundredth Anniversary, commemorated October 10, 2021; and                4
     WHEREAS, Standing for two centuries, First Presbyterian Church of   5
Ashtabula is like the house the wise man built on the rock, weathering   6
every storm over the years and continuing to thrive. Under the           7
exemplary guidance of its leadership, both past and present, this        8
dynamic church has inspired the Christian heart and has served as a      9
tremendous source of spiritual motivation to many over the years; and    10
     WHEREAS, This auspicious celebration offers the members of First    11
Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula the opportunity to share their          12
memories and to reflect on the benefits of life in their close-knit      13
community. The parishioners can be proud of their steadfastness and      14
exceptional values, for they have set a remarkable example throughout    15
the community. Indeed, all those associated with this center of          16
worship have expanded on the best traditions of the past to ensure a     17
benevolent and prosperous future; and                                    18
     WHEREAS, First Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula has made a          19
positive impact on both the community and the world. This important      20
milestone represents the dedication and commitment that the members of   21
the church have kept alive in the area through their faith. On its Two   22
Hundredth Anniversary, we salute this beacon of society; therefore be    23

Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud First               26
Presbyterian Church of Ashtabula on its Bicentennial and offer best        27
wishes as it upholds its rich legacy of faith and fellowship in the        28
years to come; and be it further                                           29
     RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly                30
authenticated copy of this Resolution to First Presbyterian Church of      31
Ashtabula.                                                                 32
