A RESOLUTION
Honoring Michael L. Coleman as the new director of
business and management relations for SMART.
WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the 1
133rd General Assembly of Ohio are pleased to congratulate Michael 2
L. Coleman on being elected director of business and management 3
relations for the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, 4
Rail, and Transportation Workers; and 5
WHEREAS, Michael Coleman is, indeed, deserving of this 6
prestigious post, for he brings to this position a wealth of 7
knowledge and leadership skill. A devoted advocate for the rights 8
of union members, he served Sheet Metal Workers’ Local 33 as a 9
member of its executive board, its business representative, and 10
its business manager/president, and he has also been active with 11
the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail, and 12
Transportation Workers General Executive Council, the Sheet Metal 13
Workers’ National Pension and International Scholarship funds, the 14
Cleveland Building Trades Council, the Ohio State Building Trades 15
Council Executive Board, and the Great Lakes States Council of 16
Sheet Metal Workers; and 17
WHEREAS, This new role will not only bring Michael Coleman 18
new challenges and responsibilities, but it will also provide him 19
with many more opportunities to contribute to the projects and 20
initiatives that affect SMART’s more than 203,000 members. We are 21
certain that as he commences his duties as director of business 22
and management relations, he will continue to demonstrate the same 23
enthusiasm and civic concern that have thus far distinguished his 24
career; and 25
WHEREAS, In his numerous endeavors, Michael Coleman has 26

displayed competence and commitment of which he can be proud, and 27
such qualities have earned him the genuine respect and esteem of 28
all who know him. We are proud to note that it is through the 29
diligent efforts of public-spirited individuals such as he, who 30
are dedicated to serving the community to the best of their 31
ability, that the State of Ohio continues to grow and prosper; 32
therefore be it 33
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the House of 34
Representatives of the 133rd General Assembly of Ohio, in adopting 35
this Resolution, commend Michael L. Coleman on his recent election 36
and extend best wishes for ongoing success; and be it further 37
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the House of Representatives 38
transmit a duly authenticated copy of this Resolution to Michael 39
L. Coleman. 40
