TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend chapter 192 of the laws of 2011, relating to authorizing
certain health care professionals licensed to practice in other juris-
dictions to practice in this state in connection with an event sanc-
tioned by New York Road Runners
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
To authorize certain out-of-state health care professionals to provide
services at major events sanctioned by the New York Road Runners. The
'A' print includes updated dates for the major events.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1 of the bill would add paramedics to this list of out-of-state
healthcare professionals authorized tc provide services the New York
City Marathon, Brooklyn Half, Bronx 10-mile, New York City Half, Staten
Island Half, and Queens 10k in 2026.
Section 2 of this bill would provide for the effective date.
JUSTIFICATION:
New York Road Runners events bring runners from all over the world to
NYC. The efforts of healthcare workers at events like the NYC Marathon
help ensure that runners make it across the finish line safely. This
legislation is important so healthcare professionals can provide neces-
sary services at these popular events.
