TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the alcoholic beverage control law, in relation to
authorizing licensees to remain open for extended hours of operation
statewide for a specific period of time; and providing for the repeal of
such provisions upon expiration thereof
PURPOSE:
To allow licensees to remain open for extended hours during the World
Cup.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1: Amends subdivision 5 of section 106 of the alcoholic beverage
control law by authorizing on-premises licensees to remain open for
extended hours starting on June 11th, 2026 and ending on July 20th, 2026
unless they have specific stipulations on hours of operation on their
license.
Section 2: Adds effective date and repeal date.
JUSTIFICATION:
Allowing on-premises licensees to operate for extended hours during the
World Cup will support small business during a time when increased
demand is expected from fans participating in public watch parties and
outdoor experiences. This bill is also a way to ensure that fans can
participate in these experiences with the assurance that proper safe-
guards are in place for alcohol service.

This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be deemed
