BILL NUMBER: S9887
SPONSOR: WEBB

TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the executive law, in relation to requiring the office
of children and family services to notify child day care providers on
updates on any forms listed on their website

PURPOSE:
This legislation will require the office of children and family services
to promptly notify their licensed child day care providers of updates on
any forms listed on their website.

SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1 - Amends the executive law by adding a new paragraph which
requires the office of children and family services to notify their
licensed child day care providers on changes on any forms listed on
their website within the publication of the updated form.
Section 2 - Establishes effective date.

JUSTIFICATION:
Currently, the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) is required
to have their application forms to be made publicly available on the
internet, but they aren't required to update their providers about any
updates on these forms. Providers may unknowingly submit outdated forms
which lead to unnecessary administrative burden from both parties and
delay the deliverance of services while forms are corrected and resub-
mitted. This bill would ease this burden by requiring OCFS to proactive-
ly notify their licensed child day care providers of any changes to
their forms listed in their website.
