TITLE OF BILL:
An act in relation to authorizing Tina Russo to receive a recalculation
of her retirement benefit from the New York state teachers' retirement

PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
Authorizes Tina Russo to receive certain service credit with the New
York state teachers' retirement system
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1: Recalculates Tina Russo's pension with the New York state
teachers' retirement system without any early retirement reduction.
Section 2: All costs shall be borne by the New York State Teachers'
retirement system.
Section 3: Effective Date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
Through no fault of her own Tina Russo's full-time service credit with
The New York State Teachers' Retirement System was calculated incorrect-
ly causing her to receive an early retirement penalty and a substantial
reduction from her pension. This bill fixes that by recalculating her
pension without the reduction.
