TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to designating
fire marshals in the county of Suffolk as peace officers; and to repeal
certain provisions of such law relating thereto
PURPOSE:
To give peace officer designation to chief fire marshals, assistant fire
chief, fire marshals, fire marshal Its and fire marshal Is employed by
the Suffolk County or a town or village in Suffolk County
SUMMARY:
Section 1. Subdivision 61 of section 2.10 of the criminal procedure law,
as added by chapter 2577 of the laws of 1992 is amended
Sections 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 repeal certain criminal procedure law Section 7
Effective Date
JUSTIFICATION:
This bill would grant Chief fire marshals, assistant chief fire
marshals, fire marshal Its and fire marshals employed by Suffolk County
or a town or village therein peace office status.
