TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the highway law, in relation to dedicating a portion of
the state highway system to LTJG Brock Wendel Yates
 
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
To honor and commemorate the life and service of Lieutenant Junior Grade
(LTJG) Brock Wendel Yates by designating the bridge on New York State
Route 19 from Castile to Perry, in the Town of Perry, County of Wyoming,
as the "LTJG Brock Wendel Yates Bridge"
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1: adds new section 344-s to the highway law to designate the
bridge on NYS route 19.
Section 2: Directs the Commissioner of Transportation to install and
maintain appropriate signage
Section 3: provides the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
Lieutenant Junior Grade Brock Wendel Yates served his nation and commu-
nity with distinction. As a proud New Yorker and member of the United
States Navy, LTJG Yates exemplified leadership, integrity, and dedi-
cation to the highest ideals of service.
