TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the highway law, in relation to dedicating a portion of
the state highway system to 2LT Edward Dixon Neal
 
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
To honor and commemorate the life and service of Second Lieutenant (2LT)
Edward Dixon Neal by designating the bridge on New York State Route 20A
over -Tonawanda Creek, in the town of Sheldon, County of Wyoming, as the
"2LT Edward Dixon Neal Bridge:"
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1- Adds new section 344-s to the highway law to designate the
bridge.
Section 2- Directs the Commissioner of Transportation to install and
maintain appropriate signage indicating the designation.
Section 3- Provides the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
Second Lieutenant Edward Dixon Neal was a distinguished servicemember
who exemplified courage, leadership, and devotion to duty in defense of
our nation. His sacrifice and commitment to his country and community
deserve lasting recognition.
