TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in
relation to prohibiting the issuance of tickets to residential occupants
for certain violations of the sanitation code
 
PURPOSE:
This is a chapter amendment that makes changes to L.2025, C.705.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
This legislation amends the underlying chapter by narrowing the citywide
applicability by providing an opt-in exemption by the Community Board to
the Department of Sanitation (the "Department") and providing the
Department 30 days to stop issuing summonses.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
This legislation is a negotiated change to the underlying chapter.

EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same manner as a
chapter of the laws of 2025 amending the Administrative Code of the City
of New York relating to prohibiting the issuance of tickets to residen-
tial occupants for certain violations of the sanitation code, as
proposed in legislative bills numbers S.8256 and A.2693-A.
