TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the real property tax law, in relation to establishing a
real property tax exemption for surviving spouses of police officers
killed in the line of duty
PURPOSE:
This is a chapter amendment that makes changes to L2025, C.670.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
This legislation amends the underlying chapter by adding an application
process for which such real property tax exemptions are required to be
filed with local assessors.
JUSTIFICATION:
This legislation is a negotiated change to the underlying chapter.

EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same manner as a
chapter of the laws of 2025 amending the Real Property Tax Law in
relation to establishing a real property tax exemption for surviving
spouses of police officers killed in the line of duty, as proposed in
legislative bills numbers S. 683-A and A. 3729, takes effect.
