TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the education law, in relation to authorizing the
performance of certain dental hygiene services at voluntary foster care
agency health facilities
 
PURPOSE OF BILL:
This is a chapter amendment that makes changes to the provisions of
L.2025, C.682.
 
SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
This legislation amends the underlying chapter by allowing voluntary
foster care agency health facilities licensed under Article 29i of
public health law to be one of the settings where dental hygienists can
perform services under the collaborative practice agreement.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
This legislation is a negotiated change to the underlying chapter.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS FOR STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT:
None.
 
EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same manner as a
chapter of the laws of 2025 amending the education law relating to
registered dental hygienists working without supervision but within a
collaborative practice agreement with a licensed dentist, as proposed in
legislative bills numbers 5.3157 and A.2341, takes effect.
