TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the elder law, in relation to publishing a guide to
actions when someone close dies
 
PURPOSE of Bill:
This is a chapter amendment that makes changes to the provisions of
L.2025, C.582.
 
SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
This legislation amends the underlying chapter by requiring the guide to
be published on the NYSOFA website within one year of the bill's effec-
tive date. The guide will also refer to resources provided by the
Department of Taxation and Finance, and the agency will consult and seek
advice from other state agencies and professionals.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
This legislation is a negotiated change to the underlying chapter.

EFFECTIVE DATE:
THIS ACT SHALL TAKE EFFECT ON THE SAME DATE AND IN THE SAME MANNER AS A
CHAPTER OF THE LAWS OF 2025 AMENDING THE ELDER LAW RELATING TO PUBLISH-
ING A GUIDE TO ACTIONS WHEN SOMEONE CLOSE DIES, AS PROPOSED IN LEGISLA-
TIVE BILL NUMBERS S.4351-A AND A.3939-A, TAKES EFFECT.
