TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend a chapter of the laws of 2025 amending the public health
law relating to defining enforcement officers in a city with a popu-
lation of one million or more for the purposes of regulating tobacco
products, herbal cigarettes and smoking paraphernalia, as proposed in
legislative bills numbers S. 5624 and A. 8468, in relation to the effec-
tiveness thereof
 
PURPOSE:
This is a chapter amendment that modifies the effective date of L.2025,
c.551.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
This legislation amends the underlying chapter by changing the effective
date from immediately to six months after enactment.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
This legislation is a negotiated change to the underlying chapter.
 
LEGISLATIVE HISTORY:
Chapter amendment to Chapter 551 of the Laws of 2025. S.5624 and A.8468
passed the Senate in June 2025, respectively.
 
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS:
None.
 
EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect immediately.
