law is amended.

JUSTIFICATION:
Confectionary products that contain a small amount of alcohol, between
one-half of one percent but not more than five percent alcohol content,
have been safely sold in New York State since 2008. In 2020, the law was
expanded to include ice cream products. The legislation would also
require the same product labeling and warning statements that confec-
tionary and ice cream containing alcohol must currently display and
would restrict sales to 21 and over.
This bill will allow New York craft beverage producers, wineries, food
manufacturers and restaurants to meet the increasing consumer demand for
these new and innovative products.
