TITLE OF BILL:
An act transferring certain state property located in the town of
Queensbury to the county of Warren
 
PURPOSE:
To transfer surplus property from the state Division of Military and
Naval Affairs to Warren County.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1 - Permits the transfer of property in the town of Queensbury
from the state to Warren County, pending consent and approval of the
Division of Military and Naval Affairs.
Section 2 - Provides the metes and bounds of the property that would be
transferred. Section 3 - Provides effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
In May 2025, the Warren County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution
for this transfer. County officials believe the surplus property,
located on Fox Farm Road in Queensbury, could provide necessary storage
for the county Sheriff's Office. In discussions, DMNA officials have
been supportive of this proposal.
