TITLE OF BILL:
An act transferring certain state property located in the town of
Queensbury to the county of Warren
 
PURPOSE:
To transfer surplus property from the state Division of Military and
Naval Affairs to Warren County.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1- Permits the transfer of property in the town of Queensbury
from the state to Warren County, pending consent and approval of the
Division of Military and Naval Affairs.
Section 2 - Provides the metes and bounds of the property that would be
transferred. Section 3 - Provides that the county may a survey to the
commissioner of OGS
Section 4 - Provides for the land conveyance if the county applies for
the tranfser within one year of the effective date.
Section 5 - Establishes conditions for allowable uses and other limita-
tions.
Section 6 - Requires to county to enter into an agreement with the state
for the continued use of pre-existing radio equipment.
Section 7 - Provides effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
In May 2025, the Warren County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution
for this transfer.
County officials believe the surplus property, located on Fox Farm Road
in Queensbury, could provide necessary storage for the county Sheriff's
Office.
In discussions, DMNA officials have been supportive of this proposal.
