TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend chapter 465 of the laws of 2016, amending the tax law
relating to authorizing the city of Hudson to impose hotel and motel
taxes, in relation to extending the effectiveness thereof
 
PURPOSE:
This bill would extend authorization for the City of Hudson to collect
an occupancy tax on short-term lodgers.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1 extends Chapter 465 of the Laws of 2016, which authorizes the
City of Hudson to impose an occupancy tax for hotels and motels, until
2027.
Section 2 sets the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
The City of Hudson requested this legislation to extend the authori-
zation for their hotel and motel tax. This authorization is set to
expire at the end of 2025, and this bill would extend it through 2027.
