TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the alcoholic beverage control law, in relation to an
exemption for certain property from the prohibition of alcohol sales
within a certain distance of a church
 
PURPOSE:
To permit the licensure of a liquor store at a certain location within
200 feet of a place of worship.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1- Amends subdivision 3 of section 105 of the alcoholic beverage
control law to permit for the sale of alcohol at a property within the
city of Glens Falls, which is within 200 feet of a place of worship.
Section 2 - Provides effective date
 
JUSTIFICATION:
This legislation would permit the State Liquor Authority to license a
proposed liquor store within the city of Glens Falls. The would-be
store's location, as measured by the SLA, is 196 feet from a place of
worship.
