TITLE OF BILL:
An act in relation to authorizing Matthew Terpening to take the compet-
itive civil service examination for the position of police officer and
be placed on the eligible list for employment as a full-time police
officer for the town of Webb
 
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
Authorizes Matthew Terpening to take the civil service test to become a
full time police officer in the town of Webb.
 
SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
Section 1: Authorizes Matthew Terpening to take the civil service test
to become a full time police officer in the town of Webb.
Section 2: Clarifies that Matthew Terpening must be subject to merit and
fitness provisions of the civil service test.
Section 3: Effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
The town of Webb has requested this legislation. Mr. Terpening is
currently a part time police officer in the town of Webb, but would like
to become full time. He is currently over the statutory age to become a
full time officer, so this bill grants him an exception to take the
civil service test and become full time.
