TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the transportation corporations law and the lien law, in
relation to permitting the town of Tuxedo to file liens on real property
related to the towns sewage-works corporation
 
PURPOSE::
To permit the town of Tuxedo to file liens on real property related to
the towns sewage-works corporation
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS::
Section 1: Amends transportation corporation law by adding section 125
which permits the town of Tuxedo to file liens on homeowners owning real
property serviced by such sewage-works corporations.
Section 2: Amends the lien law by adding a new section 66 to establish
enforcement of sewage-works corporation lien on real property.
Section 3: Sets the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
This would create a pilot program to allow the Tuxedo Homeowners Associ-
ation to pursue homeowners not paying their sewer bill by placing a lien
on their property. This action provides a practical means for the asso-
ciation to recoup the owed funds. Through this approach, the association
can protect the interests of its members and ensure the funding of sewer
management within the community.
