The Huntington Station area is undergoing a transformative mixed-use
revitalization, under the auspices of a Public-Private Partnersh ip
between the Town of Huntington and its Master Developer. This partner-
ship has conducted significant public outreach and economic r esearch on
the project. As DOT controls a portion of the land needed to complete
the project, the Department has been working closely with Huntington
officials to transfer the necessary parcels to the Town. This legis-
lation is the byproduct of those negotiations, wh ich are still ongoing.
Chapter 560 of the Laws of 2023 and Chapter 287 of the Laws of 2024
previously extended, by one year each, the date in which the subject
property may be transferred to the town of Huntington by the state
