TITLE OF BILL:
An act in relation to authorizing the town of Brookhaven, county of
Suffolk, to alienate and discontinue the use of certain parklands
PURPOSE:
To allow the town of Brookhaven to alienate a parcel of parkland of
Rolling Oaks Golf Course in Rocky Point for the installation of a cell
tower.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Pursuant to section 247 of the general municipal law, the town of Brook-
haven in Suffolk County acting by and through its governing, is author-
ized to discontinue as parkland, more particularly described in section
three, for the placement and operation of a wireless communication
tower.
JUSTIFICATION:
The town of Brookhaven has identified a need to enhance wireless commu-
nication infrastructure to improve service and connectivity. The town
will dedicate funds towards the acquisition of new parkland and/or
towards capital improvement to existing parkland and recreational facil-
ities.
