TITLE OF BILL:
An act in relation to granting retroactive Tier II membership in the New
York state and local police and fire retirement system to Giuseppe T.
Rosini
 
PURPOSE:
To grant retroactive tier 11 membership in the New York State and Local
Police and Fire Retirement System to Guiseppe T. Rosini.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1. Provides employment history for Guiseppe T. Rosini.
Section 2. Provides directive for filing with the State Comptroller
Section 3. States past service costs with the Wading River Fire District
shall be borne by such District. Section 4. Other past services shall be
borne by the Town of Riverhead.
Section 5. Sets forth the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
Giuseppe was employed in October 2004 by the Wading River Fire District.
For reasons not ascribable to this own negligence (it was not offered to
him), he did not file a membership application in the retirement system
until December 15, 2014, which gave him Tier IV status instead of Tier
II where he would have been able to file an application at the time of
employment. Mr. Rosini shall, within 6 months of the effective date of
this, file with the state comptroller a written request to grant him
Tier II status.
