TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend chapter 219 of the laws of 2003, amending the education
law relating to publishers or manufacturers providing printed instruc-
tional materials for college students with disabilities, in relation to
the effectiveness thereof
 
PURPOSE OR GENERAL IDEA OF BILL:
To purpose of this bill is to extend the law that provides college
students with disabilities electronic formats of instructional materi-
als.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section one of the bill would amend chapter 219 of the laws of 2003 to
extend the law for an additional three years through August 15, 2028.
Section two of the bill would provide for an immediate effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
This bill would ensure that students with disabilities have full access
to instructional materials in suitable formats for use in colleges in
New York State by extending current law provisions for an additional
three years.

EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect immediately.
