TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the town law, in relation to permitting the town of
Warwick to utilize preservation funds for the implementation of water
quality improvement projects, aquatic habitat restoration projects,
pollution prevention projects, and stormwater collecting systems
PURPOSE:
Allowing the Town of Warwick to utilize community preservation funding
for water quality improvement projects, aquatic habitat restoration
projects, pollution prevention projects, and stormwater collecting
systems.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1: Amends section 64-g of the town law to define and include
"water quality improvement projects," "aquatic habitat restoration
projects," "pollution prevention projects," and "stormwater collecting
systems" within the purposes of the fund; allows up to thirty percent of
the fund to be utilized for the management and stewardship program;
allows up to ten percent of the fund to be utilized for the implementa-
tion of water quality improvement projects, aquatic habitat restoration
projects, pollution prevention projects, and stormwater collecting
systems; and makes other conforming changes to the preservation fund.
Section 2: Sets Effective Date.
JUSTIFICATION:
This bill amends and adds components to the Town of Warwick's community
preservation fund at the Town's request.
