TITLE OF BILL:
An act in relation to authorizing Lt. Thomas Cleere to receive certain
service credit under a twenty year retirement plan
PURPOSE:
This bill would authorize Lieutenant Thomas Cleere, to participate in
Lhe twenty-year police retirement plan.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1. Authorizes Lt Thomas Cleere to enroll in the twenty-year
pollee retirement plan.
Section 2. Requires past service costs be paid by the town of Seneca
Falls. Section 3. States effective date.
JUSTIFICATION:
Lieutenant Thomas Cleere, a member of the New York state and local
police and fire retirement system, who was appointed as a police officer
with the Seneca Falls Police Department, in the town of Seneca Falls,
county of Seneca, on February 4, 2014, and who, through no fault of his
own, was enrolled to participate in the incorrect twenty-five year
retirement plan. This legislation would allow Lt Cleere to enroll in the
twenty-year retirement plan.
