TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to parking
infractions
PURPOSE:
To ensure the uniform treatment of defective parking tickets.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section one amends paragraph b of subdivision 2-a of section 238 of the
Vehicle and Traffic Law to clarify that a parking ticket on which
required information is omitted, mis-described, or illegible shall be
dismissed, without an application for dismissal by the'person charged
JUSTIFICATION:
There should be equal treatment of all persons receiving defective park-
ing tickets on which required information is omitted, mis-described or
illegible, whereby all such tickets would be dismissed sua sponte.

EFFECTIVE DATE:
This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall have
become a law and shall apply to notices of violation issued on and after
