TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the not-for-profit corporation law, in relation to
exempting the Caughdenoy Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. from the
forty-five percent limit on non-resident members
 
PURPOSE:
Exempts the Caughdenoy Volunteer Fire Department Inc, within the Town of
Central Square, Oswego County from the forty-five percent limit on non-
resident members
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section one waives the Caughdenoy Volunteer Fire Department Inc, from
the provision of law limiting non-resident members in a fire corporation
to forty-five percent of the actual membership.
Section two provides the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
The Caughdenoy Volunteer Fire Department has had difficulty recruiting
members from their district and have reached the forty-five percent cap
on out of district members. This bill would allow them to hire non-resi-
dent members to address a staffing shortage.
