TITLE OF BILL:
An act in relation to authorizing Sgt. Bethany Kidd to receive certain
service credit under a twenty year retirement plan
PURPOSE:
This bill would authorize Sargent Bethany Kidd, to participate in the
twenty-year police retirement plan.
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1. Authorizes Sgt. Bethany Kidd to enroll in the twenty-year
police retirement plan.
Section 2. Requires past service costs be paid by the town of Seneca
Falls: Section 3. States effective date.
JUSTIFICATION:
Sargent Bethany Kidd, a member of the New York state and local police
and fire retirement system, who was appointed as a police officer with
the Seneca Falls Police Department, in the town of Seneca Falls, county
of Seneca, on February 4, 2014, and who, through no fault of her own,
was enrolled to participate in the incorrect twenty-five year retirement
plan. This legislation would allow Sgt. Kidd to enroll in the twenty-
year retirement plan.
