TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend chapter 508 of the laws of 2016 amending the tax law
relating to the imposition of an occupancy tax in the village of Mamaro-
neck, in relation to extending the expiration thereof
 
PURPOSE OF BILL:
To extend the authority of the Village of Mamaroneck to impose a room
occupancy tax not to exceed 3%.
 
SUMMARY OF SPECIFIC PROVISIONS:
Section 1 extends the current Village of Mamaroneck occupancy tax for
another two years until December 31, 2027.
Section 2 sets the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
This bill extends the current Village of Mamaroneck occupancy tax. The
Village of Mamaroneck has used these non-property tax revenues to
control property tax increases and support Village expenses not fully
discretionary.
