JUSTIFICATION:
The bill would create a New York State Tax credit equal to the cost of a
big and small game hunting license and a fishing license for volunteer
firemen, as defined in subdivision one of section three of the fire-
fighters' benefit law and volunteer ambulance workers' benefit law.
Volunteer firefighters and volunteer ambulance workers contribute their
time without any compensation and provide a vital service for their
communities. This is a small gesture of appreciation for those who risk
their lives for the safety of their neighbors.
