TITLE OF BILL:
An act in relation to authorizing the Thiells-Roseville Fire District to
file an application for exemption from school taxes and real property
taxes
 
PURPOSE:
This bill would authorize the Thiells-Roseville Fire district to file an
application for exemption from school taxes and real property taxes.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1 of the bill authorizes the town of Haverstraw to accept an
application of exemption from school and real property taxes from the
Thiells-Roseville Fire District and specifies the parcels.
Section 2 relates to the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
The Thiells-Roseville Fire Districtpurchased several parcels in July
2024. Because of the timing of the purchase, the district was unable to
be added as exempt from school and real property taxes. This bill would
allow the district to apply for exemption.
