TITLE OF BILL:
An act to amend the not-for-profit corporation law, in relation to
exempting the South Onondaga Fire Department from the requirement that
the percentage of non-resident fire department members not exceed
forty-five percent of the membership
 
PURPOSE:
To authorize non-resident volunteer membership within the South Onondaga
Fire Department.
 
SUMMARY OF PROVISIONS:
Section 1 amends subparagraph 3 of paragraph (c) of section 1402 of the
not-for-profit corporation law.
Section 2 establishes the effective date.
 
JUSTIFICATION:
The South Onondaga Fire Department has had difficulty recruiting members
from their district and are close to exceeding the forty-five percent
cap.
